Volunteerism promotes community bonding besides giving back to the society.  When individuals from different walks of life come together for a charitable cause, a sense of fellowship and camaraderie develops.  It strengthens the bonds within the community and facilitates the development of a gentle and gracious society.  It also builds a sense of belonging to the community.  The moral test of any society is how it treats its weakest - children, elderly, sick, needy and handicapped.  We could not agree more.  Hence, NUSSU Volunteer Action Committee (NVAC) hopes to become one of the means which we can spread the spirit of volunteerism and source of information for all potential volunteers would want to render their service to the community locally and overseas.

KaleiDOscope: Volunteering

KaleiDOscope is a symposium that serves to equip youths with the necessary skills and motivation to volunteer. We want to motivate youths to be the catalyst of change in volunteering. Like a kaleidoscope that lets you see an array of colours and images, our symposium promotes volunteerism as a connection to changes, different perspectives, and most importantly, a different kind of happiness. This whole symposium conprises a workshop, exhibition and conference.

NUS Student Achievement Awards 2009

NVAC 18th Management Committee has been presented the NUS Student Achievement Award 2009 for the Community Projects (Group) category by the NUS President, Professor Tan Chorh Chuan at Heng Mui Keng Auditorium on 30 October 2009.  Congratulations!

Singapore Youth Awards
The NUSSU Volunteer Action Committee (NVAC) was conferred the Medal of Commendation 2009 by Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Professor S Jayakumar, at the Singapore Youth Award 2009 presentation ceremony held at the Istana on 5 July 2009.
